Legal framework and document hierarchy
These documents are intended to operate together. The Terms of Service are the general contract for using GeoLayers. Product-specific terms—such as the Subscription Terms, Marketplace Terms and Developer & API Terms—apply in addition where you use those features. The Privacy Policy, POPIA Notice and PAIA Manual explain information-handling and access-to-information practices.
If a mandatory right under South African law conflicts with a provision in these documents, the mandatory right prevails. Organization customers may also sign a separate order form, statement of work, data-processing addendum or enterprise agreement; where expressly stated, that signed agreement takes precedence over inconsistent online terms.

South African regulatory context
GeoLayers is operated as a South African service and the legal framework may include, depending on the activity and customer, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA), Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), Cybercrimes Act 19 of 2020 and applicable intellectual-property, contract, tax and sector-specific laws.
Useful official sources include the Information Regulator, POPIA, PAIA resources, ECTA, CPA and the Cybercrimes Act.
